HERRCO: IRONMAN® 70.3® Vouliagmeni becomes the starting point for the Recycling race
Hellenic Recovery Recycling Corporation (HERRCO) supported IRONMAN® 70.3® Vouliagmeni, Greece, the world's biggest triathlon race that took place on October 20-22 in Vouliagmeni, as well as IronKids, with the aim of highlighting the strong connection between recycling and sports, highlighting the company's commitment to promoting sustainability and cultivating environmental consciousness.
HERRCO had a dynamic presence at the event through its interactive stand, and supported all the actions carried out within the framework of IRONMAN® 70.3® Vouliagmeni, aiming to raise public awareness to protect natural resources and reduce waste for a sustainable and "green" present, a condition for a sustainable and secure future of our society.
On Saturday, October 21, young sports fans had the opportunity to get a first taste of the IRONMAN® 70.3® Vouliagmeni experience, participating in IRONKIDS® Vouliagmeni, with the Hellenic Recovery Recycling Corporation (HERRCO) as official sponsor. The main goal of the HERRCO IRONKIDS® Vouliagmeni was to encourage children aged 6-12 to practice three alternative routes, 400, 800 and 1,200 meters. Games, surprises, the Amusement Park of Recycling, the Mascots of the Blue Bin and the Blue Bell were there to show them that with small actions, you become a big hero. HERRCO aims to support initiatives, programs and actions that contribute to the cultivation of an eco-friendly behavior in young people.
In addition, HERRCO team participated in the Night Run Vouliagmeni powered by IRONMAN®, on Friday October 20, highlighting the importance of physical exercise while promoting the importance of recycling. Finally, it is worth emphasizing that HERRCO undertook the collection and utilization of the recyclable materials used by the participants and spectators and contributed to the reduction of the environmental footprint of the event. The result of this action was the collection of 2.5 tons of packaging materials, including more than 58,000 pieces of plastic water bottles consumed during the race by the runners.
